Good evening Clarendon Park community,

PCSO 6614 Ammo Sanghera has been carrying out visible patrols across the area today.

Preparations for the upcoming Balloon Festival at Victoria Park are well underway, and it was great to speak with so many members of the community enjoying the park.

Preventative anti-social behaviour (ASB) patrols were also conducted at Granville Road car park to help ensure the area remains safe and welcoming.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop and have a chat.

๐Ÿš” Great result for neighbourhood policing today.

After reviewing CCTV footage from a burglary that occurred overnight, I immediately recognised the suspect through local knowledge gained from working within the community.

Following local enquiries, the suspect was quickly located and arrested for burglary โ€” all within 12 hours of the offence. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

This is exactly why neighbourhood policing matters. Knowing our communities, building relationships, and understanding local issues can make all the difference in bringing offenders to justice swiftly.

Iโ€™ve also visited and updated the victim, who was extremely pleased with the police response and the rapid action taken.

๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ itโ€™s Neighbourhood Policing Week

Today Iโ€™ve been out on Gilmorton Avenue in Aylestone delivering Neighbourhood Link leaflets and taking the opportunity to speak with local residents. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ“ฌ

These conversations are invaluable and provide a great opportunity for people to raise any local issues or concerns affecting their community. ๐Ÿค

Whilst out on patrol today I have:

โœ… Gathered local intelligence

โœ… Given crime prevention
advice ๐Ÿ”’

โœ… Dealt with a parking issue ๐Ÿš—

โœ… Reported fly tipping to the council ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

โœ… And, luckily, found the house and car keys still left in her front door! ๐Ÿ”‘๐Ÿ

Going door-to-door is one of the best ways to understand what matters most to local people. Combined with our engagement events covering wider beat issues, this helps shape our local policing priorities and ensures we focus on what is important to the community. ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ’™

If you see us out and about, please stop for a chat โ€“ your information and feedback really do make a difference. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿš”๐ŸŒณ Behind a Tree but Not Out of Sight: Cycle Patrol Leads to Arrest

๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎ While out on cycle patrol, heard a call over the radio regarding a male who had fled from an address where there had been a discovery of significant quantity of drugs and cash. ๐Ÿ’ท๐Ÿ’Š

Response officers were actively searching the area, and being on a cycle gave us the advantage of checking side streets and locations less accessible by vehicle. ๐Ÿšฒ

As I made my way through nearby paths, I came across a small wooded area. Hidden behind a tree, crouched down and hoping not to be spotted, was our suspect. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ‘€

Iโ€™m sure he thought he was playing a game of hide and seekโ€ฆ unfortunately for him, he didnโ€™t win this round! ๐Ÿ˜…

I guided responding officers to the male, who had absolutely no idea we had already found him.

A great arrest made possible through teamwork and quick thinking. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿš”

Every arrest like this helps take drugs off our streets and keeps our communities safer. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’™

A huge thank you to the person who called usโ€”your information makes a real difference.

If you see something suspicious, please continue to report it.

Together, we can keep our neighbourhoods safe. ๐Ÿ“ž๐Ÿ‘ฅ

๐Ÿšจ Community Alert: Stay Vigilant Around New Build/Extension Sites ๐Ÿšจ

Weโ€™re urging residents and contractors to remain alert following a rise in burglaries targeting construction and development sites.
๐Ÿ”ง Opportunistic thieves are taking advantage of tools and equipment left inside unfinished properties overnight. These items are high-value and easy to move, making them a prime target.
๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™‚๏ธ If youโ€™re a contractor or tradesperson:

Avoid leaving tools on-site whenever possible
Secure valuables in locked containers or remove them daily
Ensure doors, windows, and temporary access points are properly secured
Consider additional measures such as alarms or CCTV

๐Ÿ˜๏ธ For local residents:

Report any suspicious activity around building sites, especially out of normal working hours
Look out for unfamiliar vehicles or individuals entering properties
Donโ€™t assume someone has a right to be there โ€” if in doubt, report it.

Criminals often impersonate legitimate organisations in an attempt to dupe their victims and leave them out of pocket. So itโ€™s important to be extra cautious if you receive a text message about a parcel you may be expecting, for example, or a call claiming to be from your bank.

Ofcom research found that eight in ten people experienced some form of phone scam in the summer of 2023, but fewer than two in ten reported them to the relevant authorities.

But thereโ€™s an easy, free service you can use to report suspicious texts or calls you might receive on your mobile. Itโ€™s called 7726.
