I receive numerous complaints regarding cars parked too close to the traffic lights on Station Road, and lots of requests for double yellow lines.

Let me make this very clear to everyone, this is within the “Meadows Way CLEARWAY zone” and does not require double yellow lines to prevent parking.

No Stopping: You cannot stop for any reason on a main clearway, including dropping off passengers or waiting in your car.

Verges and Footways: The clearway restriction applies to the whole road, meaning you cannot park on the verge, footway, or in a lay-by.

Signs, Not Lines: Unlike yellow lines, clearways do not have road markings. They are enforced based solely on signage at the start and end of the road.

After four years of lobbying and a resident led campaign, it’s great to see the much needed improvement to the layout and illuminated “Give Way” signage at the junction of Halls Road and Station Road completed.

The final task I was able to complete, agree funding and get into the capital highways budget before my term finished.

Result! Thanks SCC for promptly returning to complete the job👏

The ones higher up on Halls Road are marked up wonderfully
