Honey is available here at Mrs Pawsons!

Read all about the process below 🐝🍯

Discover the sweet reward of nature’s craftsmanship with honey produced by the Leeds Beekeepers Association 🐝

The honey is much more than a delicious natural product! It’s a reflection of a thriving, responsible beekeeping community. The bees will typically travel around 3 miles from their hive meaning nectar from many of the flowers you have seen whilst walking in the Temple Newsam estate will be included in each jar 🍯

This means that no two years’ honey is the same with each jar reflecting the landscape in which it was made 🌸

Once the bees have capped the honey, the beekeepers remove it from the hive, carefully extract and filter it before placing it in jars.

The honey is available here at Mrs Pawsons! An ideal souvenir for visitors or a meaningful gift that supports local nature.

Ey up ducks, it’s Open Farm Sunday this weekend and we’re joining in! We will be opening the gates to our historic working farmstead on Sunday to welcome you in for free.

Come and get stuck into the sights, sounds and stories of real farm life - past and present - right here at Home Farm. Meet our rare and native breeds up close, wander through centuries‑old barns and byres, and discover how food, land and people have always been connected.

Follow our interactive trail to uncover what life was like for farm and estate workers back in the day, and explore traditional tools and machinery that kept the place running long before tractors and tech took over.

Come along on Sunday, stretch your legs, meet the animals and enjoy a proper day out on the farm.

* Please note: The Playbarn is not included in the free entry but you can buy tickets on the day.

Water can be more dangerous than it looks ⚠️

Whether it’s canals, rivers or lakes, the risks are real—for everyone. Cold water shock, hidden hazards and slips can turn a normal day into an emergency.

In an emergency, call 999 and ask for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service

Do not be tempted to enter open water to cool down.

Even in high summer, waters across the UK remain cold enough to trigger cold shock. This can cause rapid breathing and reduced muscle control, making it much harder to swim safely.

Stay Safe. And, if you see someone in trouble in the water, make the right call - call 999! 📲

Just rocking out a few of our favourite pots from the collection - and, of course number one had to be the pineapple 🍍

If tea is your bag, you’re going to love our Tea Traditions events in the house. The next one is on Saturday 13 June.

Our tour guide will delve into Temple Newsam’s long‑standing links with tea - a story steeped in history - including an exciting discovery about the humble cuppa that caused quite a stir. It turns out the people who once lived here were real northern trend‑setters, enjoying tea centuries before it became a staple in homes across the country.

You’ll also see highlights such as Earl Grey’s table, the iconic pineapple teapot, beautifully dressed rooms where tea was enjoyed, and a magnificent silver tea set.

Sip teas from around the world in a guided tasting while hearing fascinating stories, and get to know the layers and flavour notes of specialist blends.

After the tour and tasting, you’re invited to enjoy a refreshing cuppa and a slice of cake in the stunning Dining Room at your leisure.

🎟️ £25 - vist the website to book.
