🎄 Festive maths language

Christmas time is full of simple opportunities to use maths words in everyday activities with your child. You can talk about size, position, counting and comparing while you play and get ready for the celebrations.

You might notice:

• that Santa’s footprints are bigger than yours
• how many plates you need for Christmas
dinner
• numbers in songs like 5 Mince Pies in a Baker’s
Shop or The 12 Days of Christmas
• round shapes in baubles or decorations

Talking about what you see and do together makes learning meaningful and fun.

✨ Sensory Play – Lightbox Fun!

This Christmas: save the tree, entertain little hands.

If your little one has entered the seek-and-destroy phase of Christmas tree appreciation (baubles, beware), a simple lightbox can work festive miracles.

It’s mesmerising, it’s calming, and best of all… it keeps tiny hands busy somewhere other than on your fairy lights.

Perfect for:

⭐ Slowing things down during the pre-nap chaos
⭐ Adding a bit of winter sparkle to dark afternoons
⭐ Giving babies and toddlers a magical glowing space that's way more interesting than the tree.

One of the loveliest things? Watching their faces light up as much as the lights do. 💛
