Michelle loves a spooky story and she loves a spooky story she can share with others (preferably by candlelight on a cold, dark night 🕯️🌃)

So, she's reading Halloween Cat by Alison Murray to our resident story-time skeleton. A good story helps settle the ghost so we get less paranormal experiences than we already do. We've got far too much chaos as it is; we don't need a poltergeist too! 👻😱

✨️ Today we're celebrating Michelle's silver anniversary as 25 years ago yesterday she joined Leeds Libraries ✨️

Her 25 years have been filled with community work, incredible events, and dedication. We couldn't be more lucky to have her at SLS 📚❤️

Today we've been traveling through time with the delightful Saviour Pirotta at Rothwell St Marys and Adel St John's! Saviour gave the children some insight into his writing process and what life is like as an author, hopefully inspiring the next generation of literary talent 📚❤️

What's this? A rare Saturday post from Leeds SLS?

This year's theme looks to real life inspirations to demonstrate that mental health is one aspect of your life - not the be all and end all - so we've put together a collection showcasing the real-life stories and the fictional characters we find comfort in 📚

October is the start of the Halloween season so SLS will be showcasing all the spooky stories we've enjoyed and are enjoying this month! ☠️😱

To start, we have Katherine who picked up Soul Feeder by Jennifer Killick - a mysterious chiller with supernatural stakes. This one she definitely won't be reading in the dark 🕯️

And to make it better, it's dyslexia-friendly which makes it the perfect title to round out 📚❤️
