208 (North Leeds) Air Training Corps

208 (North Leeds) Air Training Corps 208 (North Leeds) Air Training Corps The Air Cadets is an organisation for young people aged 12 to 20.

Based in Oakwood, 208 (North Leeds) Squadron parades 40+ cadets twice a week. We have an active schedule of events and provide lots of opportunites to get involved in a wide variety of activities. The squadron is active in Flying and Gliding, Shooting, Adventure Training, Drill, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, and Sports among others. Cadets also have the opportunity to apply for camps at RAF Stations in the UK and abroad, take part in activities such as shooting, parachuting, leadership and canoeing and to gain BTEC qualifications.

Last Friday saw the squadron have a visit from Wing Staff as part of our Annual Formal inspection. While Sqn Ldr Emms was visiting he presented Blue Space and Blue leadership.

Well done to all who took part and were successful in they PTS training.

Learning about Satellite Communications via presentations - appearing on a slow scan TV image from a mini satellite cube - checking out the catering facilities provided by 3 Mobile Catering but of course we needed cake mid afternoon.

Day 3 Jnr is going to the space centre with a cadet for a day out so let's see what he gets up to.....

On Tuesday this week our Tutor Flight cadets got the opportunity to try something new.
