Leeds University Marxist Society is open to everyone, whether they are a convinced Marxist or just want to learn a bit about socialism. Any student at the University of Leeds can join free, and non-students are more than welcome to get involved.We have regular meetings, talks and socials on different aspects of Marxist theory. However, we are not just a discussion club, and we are involved in the

wider labour movement, and campaign on issues facing students and workers. In all of these activities, we are helped by our affiliation with the national Marxist Student Federation, which has Marxist Societies affiliated to it from across the country.Our meetings are on Thursday at 7pm. To join the society, use your university login to sign in to the Leeds University Union website, and navigate to the Marxist society page (this can be found at: http://www.leedsuniversityunion.org.uk/clubsandsocieties/politicalandcampaigning/marxist/). The Pakistani government has effectively sentenced Ehsan Ali to die over false terrorist charges. He is an old man with pneumonia and needs immediate medical attention.

We will not stop this campaign until our comrades in the Awami Action Committee are released.

The Russian Revolution is the greatest event in human history where workers and oppressed took power out of the rotten ruling class and put it into their own hands.
However it is also the most slandered event in history!
The capitalist class have done everything in their power to tarnish the banner of communism and spread lies about the events of 1917. Why? Because these ideas threaten their power over society!
In a world ran by the barbaric and vile Epstein Class, the ideas of revolutionary communism are more alive than ever. Many are asking is revolution possible today?
What does a revolution look like? What is a socialist society? Who was Lenin and was he a dictator? (Spoiler alert he was not!)
We can answer all of these questions by studying the Russian revolution, and if we want to be successful in getting rid of the Epstein Class and emancipating society from the shackles of capitalism once and for all, then we MUST learn the lessons of the past!!

If we want to change the world then we must first understand it!
