✊️🚩 LAUNCHING THE REVOLUTIONARY COMMUNIST PARTY IN LEEDS! 🚩✊️

A reminder about our district-wide launch rally of the Revolutionary Communist Party in Leeds! Capitalism has outlived its usefulness; we are seeing increasing poverty, a rollback of the welfare state, an increase in war, and there is only one culprit - the rotting system of capitalism.

It must be overthrown, but that won't happen by itself - it needs a conscious, active and motivated party and that's exactly what we're launching, and you have a role to play in it! If you want to help us launch the RCP in Leeds and hear our perspectives then be sure to come along - we have nothing to lose but our chains!

At 6PM on 22nd April at Parkinson Steps, we will be holding a rally to symbolise the launch of the party whose goal is to lead the working class to overthrow the continually rotting system of capitalism. If you are a communist, socialist or just want to see an end to the system that is causing untold poverty, warfare and misery then come along! We have nothing to lose but our chains!

In light of the recent deregistration of the Leeds Beckett Marxist Society by Beckett's Student Union over our use of the slogan 'Intifada until Victory', the Leeds Beckett branch of the UCU (University and College Union) has released this statement supporting our position, criticising the SU's attacks on free speech, and calling for the reinstatement of our Marxist Society.

We cannot thank them enough for their letter of solidarity, which comes at a pivotal moment for the society. Tomorrow (13.12.23), we will once again be meeting with the SU after appealing their decision to deregister the society. The outcome of this meeting will decide whether or not the society is reinstated or remains deregistered.

Please read & share the UCU's statement on this issue (link in bio), let's make sure the SU understands that staff, students and supporters will unite for freedom of speech and the liberation of Paestine!

ONE WEEK TO GO! 🇵🇸

Big student-lead walkout planned for next Friday, protesting the attitudes and connections that our Government, Colleges and Universities have to the genocide in Palestine.

We are putting forward a set of demands that all Students and Staff should support to advance the pro-palestine movement in Britain and beyond.

So come and show your solidarity on the 24th, 1:30 pm at the Parkinson Steps!
