This morning Hong Kong Police arrested Jimmy Lai, his two sons, and other senior figures of Apple Daily, over suspected collusion with foreign forces under the recently imposed national security law.

Such arrest is a clear display of the absurdity of the law and it also indicates the SAR government is using the arrest as a desperate way to exact revenge on US sanction.

Later in the morning, over 200 PTUs entered the Apple Daily office without showing a warrant. This is an unprecedented move. Deploying such large and disproportional amount of policemen to raid the office of a pro-democracy newspaper is nothing but a clear intimidating signal that Hong Kong SAR is oppressing free speech and crushing the operation of Apple Daily,

We are following the development closely and we will make sure politicians in the US, the UK, the EU, and many other democracies are up to date with the development and understand the severity of the raid.

We urge democracies around the world to take immediate tangible action in response.

This new normal must not be allowed and HKSAR and the Beijing government have to face the consequences of crushing Hong Kong’s freedom and autonomy.

are arrested this morning (HKT) for daring to speak out against - actually, for daring just to report the news!

Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong. strongly condemns this arrest.

【July 21】
One year ago, white-shirted gangsters attacked civilians in Yuen Long MTR Station while police turned away, closed their stations and did nothing. One year later, there has not been satisfactory explanation nor resolution to the incident, but the police watchdog has cleared the force of collusion in a whitewash report. Hongkongers remember this complete failure to protect the public, and know that this is unforgivable.

[12 June 2020]

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the 6.12 protest against the Extradition Bill in Hong Kong which marked the first shooting of tear gas in Admiralty. Many people protested peacefully in multiple districts including Mong Kok and Causeway Bay. Many citizens were stopped and searched by the Hong Kong Police with a total of 35 were arrested.

A reporter passed out after the police fired pepper ball rounds. In Kwun Tong, a Hongkonger who sang "Glory to Hong Kong" was stabbed by a pro-Beijing mob with a knife. A member of the Legislative Council Hui Chi Fung was arrested.

Hong Kong Police mocked and "I can't breathe" and as always harassed reporters and citizens. They are racist and have no respect for everyone. Shameless.
