HAF bookings open tomorrow at midday!

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is back for Summer 2026, offering free fun, food and activities for eligible children aged 5–16. From dance and crafts to sports and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy—plus a healthy meal included with every session.

Bookings open on Wednesday 1 July, with the programme starting on Monday 27 July. Families can book up to 16 sessions per child, making it the perfect way to stay active, try new things and have fun over the holidays.

The Nature and Biodiversity Community Grant Scheme is now open, offering between £500 and £10,000 to support projects that improve habitats, boost biodiversity and help people connect with nature in Herefordshire
Community groups, charities, schools and parish councils can apply for funding for projects such as tree planting, wildflower meadows, ponds, wildlife habitats and community green spaces
Working in partnership with FCC Environment the scheme will support practical local projects that make a real difference for wildlife and the environment

Communities across the county are coming together to celebrate Refugee Week with a range of events highlighting this year’s theme, “Courage.”

From Hereford Cathedral to local markets, church services and family events, there are plenty of opportunities to learn, connect and celebrate the contributions of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

This year also recognises the courage of Homes for Ukraine sponsors who have supported people rebuilding their lives here.

Supporting people through bereavement and helping families plan ahead
Hereford Crematorium are hosting a Bereavement Support and Advice Event on Saturday 4 July from 10am to 1pm, offering a welcoming space to access information, ask questions and speak with a range of local organisations and professionals
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about bereavement support services, funeral arrangements, memorial options and family history, as well as take part in guided behind the scenes tours of the crematorium to better understand the cremation process
Whether you are coping with the loss of a loved one, supporting someone through bereavement, or simply planning for the future, everyone is welcome
