What’s the Library of Things and how does it work?

We're proud to be part of the celebrations for Great Big Green Week (6 - 14 June), which brings people together to make neighbourhoods better places to live and protect the natural world we love.

This week we're open on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday as usual, plus we'll be at the Leamington Peace Festival on Saturday and Sunday too. So if you're looking for a way to get involved with Great Big Green Week, why not pop in and borrow a 'thing' from us? 💚

We're officially famous! 😇😂
Thanks to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire for coming to meet us and for spreading the word about what we're doing here in Leamington.
And if you love the idea as much as the BBC did, then there are two things you can do to support us:

- and tell all your friends about us!

Volunteers in Leamington have launched a new type of library where you can borrow household items.

Just a reminder that if you're in town on Saturday 13th or Sunday 14th June, you'll be able to find us at the Leamington Peace Festival, where we'll have a stand opposite the bandstand stage by the children's area. Come and chat to us about borrowing things, joining our volunteering team, or any items that you have available to donate to the library - we're looking forward to seeing you there!

Guess who dropped into the Library of Things this morning? Only the BBC 😱

And yes, there were cameras, microphones, the lot. Very “don’t mind us, just casually being interviewed about borrowing a carpet cleaner instead of buying one” vibes.

They chatted all things Library of Things with our borrowers too - why people use it, what they love about it, and how it’s saving money, space, and things from being wasted.

It was a lovely chance to show what we're all about, and of course if we can, we'll share the result with you when it's published 😊

Another happy customer.... we had this note from Peter:

"Many thanks for hire of the sash clamps. They enabled the repair and refurbishment of an old pine refectory table for my daughter - bit of elbow grease, wood glue, wax and the clamps, job done!"

We think it looks fantastic, and also love seeing what our 'things' get up to when they leave the library. Thank you for sharing!
