With only 7 weeks until we welcome competitors and spectators from around the world to Huntington Farm for the World Sheepdog Trials we thought we should introduce ourselves to those who don’t know us.
We married in June 1989 and came to Huntington in November of 1992 where we started on our farming and family journey.
Angus was born in December of 1995, then Ewan February 1997 and Laura April of 1999.
It was obvious from a very young age that both boys were destined to follow in the family footsteps, farming was definitely in their blood.
They both attended Edinburgh SRUC
before taking time away from the farm to travel.
Angus headed to Western Australia for the harvest season then moved to New Zealand working for a contractor in the South Island.
Ewan went out to New Zealand’s South Island initially working for a contractor before moving onto a sheep station.
Laura has recently returned home after spending time in Wiltshire, Shropshire and France where she worked with horses both in Eventing and National Hunt racing.
We are delighted to be hosting the event and look forward to welcoming you all in September.
We wish the competitors and event every success!!

We're looking for experienced tractor and combine operators to join our team for a busy harvest season at Huntington Farm, Lauder, Scottish Borders.

We're looking for people who are:
✅ Experienced in operating tractors and combines
✅ Reliable and hardworking
✅ Available to start immediately
✅ Committed to seeing the harvest through

John Ainslie aka ‘Jiggy’ celebrates his 70th Birthday today doing what he loves, working with sheep!! 🐑
John has not only been part of our lambing team for the 34 years that we’ve been in Huntington but he has probably replaced every fence on the farm, he’s built sheds/bull pens/silage pits, repaired d***s, laid concrete and patio’s, clipped our sheep, dressed ewes, lambs and tups, the list goes on oh and he also agreed to pose semi naked for the Lauder Likely Lads charity calendar I produced back in 2001.
Before that he also did the lambing for Papa Runciman at Allanshaws from the age of 24.
We are very grateful to John for everything he’s done for us over the years and continues to do, he’s generous with his time and he’s generous with his knowledge happily passing on his skills to the next generation!!
