S Bricks were conceived to be as simple and unobtrusive as possible, so the facing is chosen to be the same as the rest of the wall whether it be brick, stone or render. An alternative approach is to choose a contrasting colour to make an attractive feature. Here we have a yellow-brick facing in a red-brick wall.
