This week’s video is about a heritage site disappearing into the sea. A little known site.

The LiDAR is revealing and dramatic.

We also follow the landed folk who once lived there inland, as they moved away from the coast.

And of course, an antiquarian on a desolate beach with grey skies overhead, does predictably mean there’s a spooky M.R. James vibe to it all.

Join us from 08:30am this Sunday.

My post about a disused railway series the other day was just a little joke based on a picture of me on a disused railway.

I can see some thought it would be a good idea!

Paul Whitewick had just put something out saying he was delisting his “Every Disused Railway Station” series so I just couldn’t resist it.

That picture does, however, relate to an upcoming video, so stay tuned to see how it fits in with our normal interests.

An odd old picture of Hadrian's Wall.

What about this for an idea? 😆

So to follow up on today's video, some pictures for you:

1 - The 1926 Great Hill location
2 - That bit of wall today
3 - Walwick
4 - Birdoswald "Fosse"

Farmer Pete tells me the Birdoswald picture is dated 1880s and clearly the use of "Fosse" is wrong - it's the Vallum. I think it is a stretch to the east of Birdoswald fort, if any of you decide to go and have a look.

Cheers
Darren
