Our school is situated in an idyllic location in the Forest of Bowland, within an area of outstanding natural beauty, and at the centre of the village of Abbeystead. It was founded by William Cawthorne in 1664 and has been educating children ever since. We are proud of our small size (maximum of 6 children per year group) as this means children receive individual attention which is modified to their needs, and are educated within a supportive, family atmosphere. We carefully monitor every child’s progress and give support to children when needed so we ensure everyone makes progress. Community is important to us and every child has a valuable contribution to make. Please contact us and make an appointment to come and see us at work.

The sun is shining, it's almost the end of term and the staff are feeling mischievous... an 'obstacle course' was arranged, staff were armed with water pistols and we all had A LOT of fun! Which naturally ended with the staff being wetter than the children. A core memory for all of us this afternoon! 🌞
