Your community. Your voice. Your future.

The risks facing our communities can change over time, and they aren’t the same everywhere across Lancashire.

That’s why we want to hear from the people who live and work here.

We’re now in the second phase of our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) consultation, asking for your views on the risks we’ve identified and how Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service plans to prevent and respond to them.

Your feedback will help shape our final plan and how we deliver our services over the next five years.

Take part: www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/LFRScrmp2

It takes around 5 minutes to complete and closes at 5pm on Friday 9 October 2026.

We attended this incident alongside our emergency service colleagues from Lancashire Police and North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. We wish the rider well in their recovery. If you have any information that could assist the Police please share it with them using the details in their post.

We need to tell you about a collision in Cockerham that happened over the weekend and we are asking for your help.

At 8:05pm yesterday (23rd August), we received a report of a collision on Garstang Road, at the junction with Cockerham Road which involved a silver Audi A3, a white BMW R1200 motorcycle and a green Kawasaki ZX600.

The rider of the Kawasaki, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains. Our thoughts are with him and his loved ones as he receives treatment. The rider and pillion passenger of the BMW motorcycle were not injured. The driver of the Audi was not injured.

The riders of both motorbikes are being treated as witnesses at this time in our investigation.

An investigation into what led to the collision is underway, and enquiries are very much ongoing.

This is where we need to ask for your help – if you witnessed the collision, or if you have CCTV or dashcam that covers the area or captures the vehicles before the collision, we would be really keen to speak to you.

You can call 101 or email [email protected] quoting log 1243 of 23rd August.

Following feedback from our communities, partners and employees earlier this year, we've developed our draft plan and are now launching the second phase of our consultation.

We're asking for your views on the community risks we've identified and how we plan to prevent and respond to them.
