This year Carers Week is all about building carer friendly communities. We’ll be highlighting the impact carer friendly communities can have in making a real and lasting difference to the lives of carers everywhere.
Carer friendly communities are places, spaces, services and community groups where unpaid carers are recognised, understood, and valued. They make support part of everyday life ensuring carers get the opportunities and help they need.

We are celebrating all of our volunteers as part of Volunteer week. We have had both Maddison and Darci recently start their training with us to go along with their studies at University. Our volunteer adviser training is suitable for all students but we mostly have those interested in law, social sciences and community work.

We would like to thank both Maddison and Darci for dedicating a day each week to Clydesdale CAB alongside studying for their degree.

This is our volunteer Jane, who is our Social Policy Officer. Each week Jane will look at social issues that are highlighted within our rural community through our advice giving service which impacts our clients. This is then submitted to Citizens Advice Scotland who can then take this to the Scottish Parliament.

This work is crucial in influencing and developing Social Policy in the UK and we would like to thank Jane for her dedication to this each week

We’re proud to be taking part in Volunteers’ Week 2026 and each day we will be celebrating our volunteers.

Both Janette and Alistair began their volunteering during COVID19. This brought a completely different way in which the required adviser training was completed with many zoom calls and little face to face interaction. However, they both worked hard to successfully graduate.

We are pleased that they have both been part of the team ever since. We would like to thank them both for their dedication to the Bureau that they bring each week
