We're delighted to announce that Lesley (pictured - still showing her battle scars from the Tough Mudder) has now passed all her exams to become our second qualified fitness and gym instructor here at LLC. She now joins Kirsty as our resident gym, weights and cardio gurus.

Both Kirsty and Lesley are qualified and knowlegeable in offering inductions, fitness plans and one-2-one tuition in every aspect of our gym. Top-level gymfluencers!

Thanks to everyone for your patience whilst we unpacked all our gym boxes, but that's all our new equipment now loaded into the gym. 💪💪💪

Very special mentions to all our K2K Swimmers, the Tough Mudders, the Skye Half Marathoners, Lochcarron Primary School and Dornie and District Community Hall for fundraising for all this new kit. Smashed it!!!!

We do also have an old, but good condition weights bench for a new home for a suggested donation of £75, please ask, it's ready to pick up.

Intensive Swimming Lessons – Summer Holidays

We will be running intensive swimming lessons each week throughout the school summer holidays (Summer Timetable will be published soon).

Lesson Times

* 3-day blocks: 9:00am and 9:30am (Tuesday - Thursday) 💷 £37.50
* 4-day blocks: 4:00pm and 4:30pm (Monday - Thursday) 💷 £50

Beginner Classes
Suitable for non-swimmers and children who still require support in the water. These sessions will focus on building water confidence, introducing key swimming skills, and learning the basics of swimming strokes. Children must be older than 4 to take part in our intensive sessions.

Improver Classes
Suitable for children who are comfortable in the water and would benefit from further developing their swimming skills and improving their stroke technique. Based on who is in the class, we would aim to do the class over lengths or 3/4 lengths.

Places are available to book online from today. Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend booking early.

A polite reminder regarding children's swimming lessons.

We no longer have a viewing area here at the centre, but parents are welcome to wait at reception, but please note space is limited.

We want to avoid parents and siblings surrounding gym equipment so please listen to staff to keep yourself and gym users safe.

It's also very off-putting for both learners and teachers to have an audience. We know from experience learning is better for all those involved if there are no distractions.

So please help us to deliver for everyone as best we can.

We've also had a large consignment of gym equipment arrive this week, so space is very much at a premium until we process it.

A big thank you to Clive, who's taken care of all the strimming around the centre recently. It did make us think though, about the amount of volunteering and community effort that goes in to help run this Leisure Centre. So from our volunteer Trustees, to Friends of Lochalsh Leisure Centre, our grounds people, everyone who raises funding on our behalf, all the community support we get to w**d, clean gutters, litter pick, odd jobs, etc.

Big and small, you're all awesome. We wouldn't be here without you!

And if you can help in any way, please get in touch with us or Friends of Lochalsh Leisure Centre - we're always on the lookout for practical, specialist help, specific tasks and fundraising.
