🚌 A new flexible way to travel around Knutsford

Cheshire East Council’s go-too on-demand bus service has now been expanded across the borough, including the Knutsford area.

The service is designed to help residents who have limited or no access to conventional public transport, offering a flexible way to make everyday journeys and stay connected with the community.

Whether you need to get to the shops, attend an appointment, visit friends or family, or simply head out for the day, journeys can be booked through the go-too app or by telephone.

When does it run?
Monday–Friday: 9.30am–2.30pm and 4.30pm–9pm
Saturday: 9am–6pm

Single fares:
£4 for passengers aged 16+
£2 for under-16s
FREE for concessionary bus pass holders

Door-to-door support is also available for eligible passengers.

The expanded service aims to complement existing bus routes and provide another transport option for residents, particularly in areas where regular services are limited.

🦇 Two Ways to Discover Knutsford’s Bats This Autumn

Join Crosstown Community Orchard for their annual Bat Walk and Moth Trapping event on Friday 11th September at 8:30pm.

Starting at The Moor, you’ll use special bat detector equipment to search and listen for bats hunting over the Moor Pool.
Then it’s across to the orchard, where the moth trap will have been attracting moths throughout the evening.

The event is led by local wildlife expert Adam Linett, formerly of Cheshire Wildlife Trust.
There will also be fire pits, mulled w**e and marshmallows to keep everyone warm!

🔦 Bring a torch and wrap up warmly.
👨‍👩‍👧 Children are very welcome.
💚 Free to attend, with donations appreciated.
🕥 The evening will finish at around 10.30pm.

What better way to start the autumn season?

And if the evening sparks your interest, there’s another chance to discover more about these fascinating creatures in October!

🔬 Batting for Bats – Knutsford SciBar

On Tuesday 6th October, Knutsford SciBar will host “Batting for Bats”, a special talk with Helen Taylor-Boyd from Keele University.
The talk will give you the chance to learn more about bats, their behaviour and the important role they play in our environment.

So whether you join the Bat Walk in September or simply want to find out more about Knutsford’s nocturnal neighbours, this is another great opportunity to continue your bat-themed autumn!
