Our social media channels feature a variety of information from our services and partners, keeping you informed and up to date with what's happening across Fife. We're here to help in any way that we can, and we will always aim to be supportive and respectful in our posts and any comments we respond to. We want our social media channels to be

safe, healthy, and open places for discussion and the exchange of views and we have the following house rules to help support that.

- All users must comply with the social media platform's terms of use as well as our own terms of use
- We answer enquiries/messages as soon as possible within working hours
- We will remove, in whole or in part, posts that we feel are inappropriate – for example bullying or harassment - or discriminatory against any individual or group
- You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content you choose to share

We will remove messages (where function allows) and report and/or block users on our social media channels who post messages at us which we believe are:

- abusive or obscene
- deceptive or misleading
- in violation of any intellectual property rights, including copyright
- in violation of any law or regulation
- spam and off-topic content (persistent negative and/or abusive posts in which the aim is to provoke a response)
- promotional material, including links to external websites and promotions

Anyone repeatedly engaging with us using content or language which falls into the above categories will be blocked and/or reported to the associated social media platform. We will not tolerate or respond to abusive messages. We must always remain politically neutral on social media which is why council officers are unable to reply to, endorse or engage with, any content that is of a party political nature. Political issues can be discussed with local councillors.

A competition for your children to enter:
BEAR Scotland is inviting pupils to take part in its Gritter Naming Competition 2026. We're looking for funny, creative winter-themed names for our fleet of gritters that help keep Scotland's roads safe during winter.
Previous winners include Snow Scotland Snow Party, I've Grit A Crush On You and Sir Andy Flurry.

Entries are being accepting until Friday 11 September and winning names will be displayed on one of our winter service vehicles.
We can't wait to see what names Scotland's young people come up with this year.

We have all been getting to know our teachers and classes and routines well today. A reminder to support pupils with allergies by not bringing in apple, nut and banana products. If pupils do, please remind them to sit on the middle lunch tables and wash their hands straight after lunch.
Please also discourage lollipops and chewing gum from school as these are a choking hazard.
Our P7 buddies have been supporting P1 at break and lunch to follow the school systems. Please remember to label everything (e.g. - coats, lunches, bags, etc.).

Fife Climate Youth Festival returns this September, running from 18th September - 18th October 2026.



The festival will celebrate youth-led climate action across Fife with youth groups, schools, students and community groups across Fife all invited to lead climate action events and activities in their community.
