✨ We are honestly blown away ✨
It’s only been 24 hours since we shared our 40th anniversary crowdfunder and we are already so close to hitting our goal!!
The generosity, the shares and the support from the community genuinely means the world to us. What started 40 years ago as a small group of people stepping up to protect something special is still powered by community today and you are all part of that ❤️
We’re nearly there now… do you think we can hit the goal today? 👀
If you’ve been meaning to donate or share, now is the moment let’s get this over the line together 💪

Thank you so much for everything so far 🌱
✨ Help Us Celebrate 40 Years of Heritage ✨
Back in 1986, a stolen car was driven into Jonathan’s Cave and set on fire, destroying a panel of Pictish carvings.
Out of that, a group of local people basically said, if nobody else is going to step up for this place, we will 💪
40 years later, that’s grown into something we’re really proud of ❤️
🎉 For our 40th anniversary, we’re planning a mix of events:
• A FREE community festival with Pictish crafts, a medieval court and ancient music (Sat 20th June)
• A FREE conference sharing what we’ve learned over the years (Sat 21st November)
• An archaeology week digging into parts of the site we don’t fully understand yet
• A museum exhibition looking back on our first 40 years
• Hands-on stuff like willow weaving in the history garden (Sat August 1st)
We'll let you know full details of each activity soon.
🌱 It’s all about celebrating the site, getting people involved, and making sure it’s still here for the future.
💛 We are applying for funding, but we still need a bit of help through donations and crowdfunding to make it all happen.
Anything you can give genuinely makes a difference, and anything extra will go straight back into the site.
👉 If you can donate, we’d really appreciate it. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/swacs40
