The world's first true movie camera wasn't French. It was Polish, invented in 1894.

Kazimierz Prószyński, a brilliant Polish inventor, unveiled his "Pleograph" a full year before the Lumière brothers showcased their Cinématographe. His device could both record and project moving images, a groundbreaking achievement that laid the foundation for modern cinema.

While the Lumière brothers gained global recognition in 1895, Prószyński's pioneering work often gets overlooked in Western history books. He continued to innovate, even inventing a hand-held camera, but political turmoil and war obscured his legacy.
