SEND Reforms - parent and carer survey
Every child and young person with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) should receive the right support to help them thrive at home, in school and in their wider community. We are reviewing how SEND services currently work and how planned SEND reforms can improve support for children, young people and families.

We want to hear directly from parents and carers about your experiences. Your views will help us understand what is working well, where families face challenges, and what needs to change. Your feedback will be used to help shape future services and improve how support is planned and delivered locally.

The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete. Your responses will be kept confidential and will not affect any current support you or your child receive.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, your voice is incredibly important in shaping better SEND services for children and families.

Taking place from 15–21 June, this year’s theme is courage — recognising the strength it takes for refugees to rebuild their lives, from navigating new journeys to learning new languages and adapting to unfamiliar systems.

This year also marks 75 years since the Refugee Convention, a landmark agreement affirming that everyone forced to flee deserves protection, dignity and hope.

As a proud City of Sanctuary, Hull continues to celebrate community, culture and connection — bringing people together through exhibitions, talks and special events across the week. 💙

The delivery of around 150 new Hull City Council homes as part of a wider redevelopment is moving closer as demolition work is underway at the Boothferry Flats site.

Three tower blocks – Torpoint, Millport and Woolwich – are being torn down ahead of the building of modern, energy efficient houses, which will help meet demand in the city for good quality affordable housing.

Following a tendering process, GBM Demolition was appointed to carry out the work, with the demolitions expected to be completed in the autumn.
