Sick of the hellish groundhog day of British politics? Wish the lettuce was back in the running? We can't keep hoping the same system that got us in this mess is gonna be the thing that gets us out of it.

We need to turn this thing on its head and flip the balance of power in this country.

People's Assemblies are where we, the people, sit together and contribute to the decisions that affect our lives. In this time of chaos, we have both a right and a responsibility to help build a new kind of democracy - one fit for the 21st century.

No more ridiculous leadership contests and promises of "change". We are the ones we've been waiting for.

Find a people's assembly happening near you, or start one on your street.

A day in the life of a 'community organiser' AKA someone who's looked outside the window, seen how s*** everything is, and decided to try and do something about it.

We had no idea how our new independent newspaper, Chute, would go down with people. But we saw a real need and a real opportunity and we gave it a go. More of this to come.

Crop failures are part of our future. But what else is on the menu? Will we also seize the opportunity to build a better food system, a better economy, a better democracy, a better society? We could. But it's gonna need a lot of hands on deck.

Cooperation Hull is part of a global movement to rebuild our food system, starting in our local neighbourhoods.

Moving onto land and growing our own food, so we know how to look after ourselves. Starting pay-what-you-can restaurants where we cook and eat together; a treat for everyone and the opposite of charity.
Getting organised with our neighbours into food buyers co-operatives, saving money on our food shops & using it to support local growers.
And more. There's always room for more.

What do you want to see as part of a new, fairer, kinder food system? And what will your role be?

Our local community centre can keep the lights on for 3 days without the national grid or energy from the new solar panels. We're just scratching the surface of what we can do when we work together.

and Cooperation Hull are proud to be taking our place in the energy revolution. Taking on big energy companies and putting power (in every sense of the word) back where it belongs.

Next mission: local energy clubs all around Hull. Solar panels on homes, connected up, owned and controlled by the neighbourhood, and putting "profits" (when extra energy is sold back to the grid) back into the community.

Projects like this are taking off all over the country. And big energy companies, used to raking in billions whilst our bills soar, are not gonna like it.

But there's strength in numbers, so stick with us.
