This week, Hull will celebrate Refugee Week 2026 with a series of events in the city.

Taking place from 15 to 21 June, this year’s Refugee Week theme is courage, and marks 75 years since the landmark Refugee Convention agreement, which affirmed that those forced to flee deserve protection, dignity and hope.

The council has been recognised nationally, winning silver at the prestigious Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards for its ‘All With Us’ programme🎊
The work, led by children’s homes within the council’s children, young people and family services, and delivered in partnership with housing services and also colleagues at the Integrated Care Board, was honoured in the Health and Social Care category and was one of three which the council was shortlisted for.
The ‘All With Us’ programme is the council’s response to the national challenge of children in care living far from home in costly and unstable placements.

🍳✨ Members of the Women’s Voice TARA enjoyed a fantastic cooking session, coming together to learn new skills, share ideas and enjoy each other’s company. The group was delighted to welcome the Chair of the Tenants’ Forum, the Head of Service (Business Development and Change), and a Tenant Participation Officer, who visited the session to see the group’s activities and speak with members. 💙🏡
