Three years ago, if you’d told me I’d be volunteering my time with young people, talking about school, mental health, and occasionally debating what counts as a reasonable amount of popcorn, I wouldn’t have realised how fulfilling the experience would become.

We’ve received some lovely feedback from one of our home educated Year 12's. Well done for speaking up, it’s not easy, but it can change everything. Rose is proud to support you... 🩷

“I started college in September with support from Connexions, but the course wasn’t what I expected. My mum was worried that I would drop out, I re-assured my mum that I would talk to my Connexions adviser, I felt comfortable and confident to explain how I felt to her. Rose listened without judgment and helped me switch to a re-engagement programme instead of dropping out. A lot of young people feel nervous to tell their adviser that a course isn’t right for them, but Rose always said, ‘Don’t drop out, talk to me first, and we will figure it out, together’, that’s why I booked an appointment. I tried my best, and I feel so much better after changing plans. Thank you for everything”.
