Hi

Thank you for your continued support for the Kingsclere ecology group we are forming - Greener Kingsclere.

I am delighted to announce that our next public meeting will be on the evening of 20th May at the Fieldgate Centre. The last one was a huge success with over 100 people from the village. Southern Water promised to come back to tell us about their plans.

I hope you can make it.

Southern Water will be presenting their extensive bioengineering works planned for Gailey Brook. We will also be launching Greener Kingsclere and letting you know all the activities we have planned. You will have the chance to ask questions about any of this.

I'm extremely grateful to Southern Water, Action for River Kennet, Kingsclere Primary School and Kingsclere Community Association for all their support and enthusiasm that is making this happen. As well as all the individuals from the village who are helping with their time and expertise.

Can you help?
We do need some more people to help out with publicity and organising things. If you feel you can help us then we are having a planning meeting tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 7pm at the Fieldgate to confirm the arrangements for the public meeting and the ongoing plans for the year. I would love to see you there.

Kind Regards

Cllr David Conquest

Tadley North, Kingsclere and Baughurst Ward

Election day is on the 7th of May

One of the key changes under the Elections Act 2022 is the requirement for electors to provide photographic ID at polling stations, and the polling station team to check this before issuing them with a ballot paper. Valid IDs include Passport, Driving Licence and Bus Pass.

For those electors who do not have adequate ID, they can apply to the elections office for a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) or temporary VAC before 5pm on Tuesday 28 April.

More information

You can vote in person on polling day at your allocated polling station. This is allocated to you based on your address on the electoral register.

B1038 - A339 Kingsclere Road, Kingsclere - Carriageway Resurfacing Works

Night Working Advance Notification

As part of Hampshire County Council’s annual planned maintenance programme, this letter is to inform you that we will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works in A339 Kingsclere Road/Bypass across the junction with B3051 George Street and Little Knowl Hill for approximately 300m.

The works are programmed to start 02 March 2026 and are expected to take up to 8 nights to complete.

Due to the impact the works will have on traffic and to minimise disruption, it will be necessary to carry out all works at night between 20:00 to 06:00hrs.

Whilst there is an allowance within the time periods shown above for delays, there may be times when we have to postpone works at very short notice; based on the latest weather forecasts, this can occur just prior to works commencing. We will always look to provide up to date information wherever we can, but sometimes these last-minute decisions can be difficult to relay to the travelling public in a timely manner. When we can, any significant changes to the scheduled dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located at the works limits.

For your safety and that of our workforce, we are unable to guarantee vehicular access to and from your property during the road closure. Should you need to make an essential journey, please contact a member of the workforce on site in advance and they will be able to advise if they can accommodate your request. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

For further details of how the road closure may affect your access please visit our website - www.hants.gov.uk/roadworks.

Thank you for your co-operation and if you need more information regarding these works, you can by using any of the options below.

Visit One.Network – https://one.network/?GB141836826 which is where our planned works are published and is an independent platform that allows real-time monitoring of all the UK’s roadworks and diversions.

If you ever need to report a problem with the roads, you can do so by visiting www.hants.gov.uk/roadproblems and then clicking on ‘Find out more’ on the ‘Roadworks or road closure issues’ square.
