Contractors for South West Water will be working in the Loddiswell Sewer Treatment Works(STW) to install new screens and monitoring equipment to ensure compliance with the site permit. The work is due to begin around 25 May and should be completed by October 2026. There will be an increase in traffic to and from the works, with the deliveries via the A381 to avoid the village centre. The scheme is confined to the boundaries of the STW and we do not anticipate much disruption as a result of these works, although there may some noise from the construction during the working day and with occasional heavy vehicle and plant movements.

The new screens will improve the resilience of the sewerage treatment process and the Monitoring Certification Scheme (MCERTS) flow meters will monitor influent and effluent flows, ensuring compliance with discharge permits and optimising treatment processes.

Local fundraising opportunity, but also just to let people know what's going on. This was sent from Gladiator Events:

I am just getting re in touch about the Devon Heli Hike Event taking place on Saturday 4th July. The event is raising funds for Devon Air Ambulance.

We are starting and finishing from Mount Folly Farm and expecting around 300 walkers across the 3 distances.
