My statement regarding The Queen Elizabeth Hospital services.

“West Norfolk is to receive a brand new state-of-the-art £1.4 billion hospital, and I very much welcome the progress that is being made with this - within the last few months, a new helipad has been built, the bus stop has been relocated and construction has begun on the new multi-storey car park, which will free up the land needed for the main hospital build to begin.

The commitment both from this Labour Government and the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group to maintain services on-site is clear, and a commitment that I strongly share.

We need to ensure the care and services delivered to people in West Norfolk are of the highest quality, which inevitably in a hospitals group model like this, will see conversations had about what services are best delivered at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and what services may be best delivered at the two other acute hospitals in the model.

I am determined that within those conversations, West Norfolk’s specific health needs, rurality and the impact of health inequalities are properly reflected in the services to be delivered.”

Over 4,500 pubs and bars in the North West, including many in Manchester will benefit from Labour's cut to business rates.

This will reduce the burden on local businesses, along with over 750 clubs.

The West Lynn Ferry has been running since 1285, but it needs urgent repairs to the landing stages to stay afloat. It's a vital, sustainable transport link that reduces local car journeys. Sign the petition to call on the council to step up and fund the works so it can keep operating:
