Job description
Mr Beeās Family Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Job Purpose:
The Early Years Practitioner will use their excellent knowledge of the EYFS to provide a high standard of care and education for all children at the Centre. They will be able to work with all early yearsā practitioners, trainees and volunteers in ensuring all children receive the highest quality care and education; carry out and meet the requirements of a key person role to a high standard; implement the daily care and routines within the room; provide inclusive play and learning opportunities for all children attending the centre and to maintain a safe, stimulating and enjoyable environment.
Key responsibilities:
Health and Safety
Ā· Safeguarding ā understand and adhere to the centreās safeguarding policies and follow procedures to keep children safe and secure and ensure that others at the centre are adhering to the policy.
Ā· Share information and / or safeguarding concerns about a child or adult appropriately and in a timely manner to the Early Years Room Lead or Safeguarding Lead Practitioner.
Ā· Report safeguarding concerns about any adult working in the centre to the manager following the centreās procedure regarding whistle-blowing.
Ā· Adhering to policies and procedures prioritising health and safety legislation and requirements, including the recording and reporting of accident and incidents.
Ā· Complete tasks as designated by Early Years Room Lead / Lead Practitioner to ensure environment is clean and safe to use at all times.
Ā· Be fully aware and adhere to the Maintaining Childrenās Safety and Security on the Premises.
Ā· Ensuring the highest of hygiene and cleanliness standards during care routines, for example nappy changing, food preparation and sleeping areas.
Provision and Promotion of High Quality Play and Learning Opportunities
Support the emotional, physical, social, spiritual and intellectual needs of all children attending the centre.
Observe, extend and support childrenās learning.
Plan, prepare and deliver activities and experiences which promote childrenās learning and development using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and follow organisational procedures outlined in the Observation, Assessment and Planning Guidance.
Maintaining accurate and effective childrenās records as outlined in our observation, assessment and planning guidance, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date to showing a childās progress and raising awareness of any early years intervention which may be needed.
Working in partnership with the Special Education Needs Co-ordinator
(SENCO) and other agencies and professionals as appropriate eg Speech and language therapist (SALT), Ofsted, childrenās centre staff, etc.
Demonstrate good practice in supporting children with additional needs and inclusion.
Carry out and meet the requirements of the Key Person role to a high standard.
In the Key Person role, create positive working relationships and partnerships with parents and to promote parental involvement.
Learn about development in early years childcare and education.
Operational
Ensuring policies and procedures for the day-to-day running of the centre are adhered to, including all record keeping.
Work with other colleagues as a team to ensure the highest standards of care and education are provided for all the children attending within the childcare room.
Work with other colleagues and line managers to ensure the environment and displays are kept in line with organisational policy, changing initiatives and good practice.
Demonstrate a flexible approach to day-to-day duties to ensure smooth running and operation of the centre.
Work with the Centre Lead during inspections and to assist in implement any recommendation given by any regulatory body.
Learning and Development
Support student practitioners
Attend staff meetings and engage in self-development appraisals and supervision as requested by your line manager.
Demonstrate a willingness to attend training and to take opportunities for continuous professional development.
Attend all Mr Beeās organisation in-house training.

Ā· Maintain the organisationās Equal Opportunities policies.

Ā· Maintain all organisation policies and actively become involved in policy review through the appropriate channels. Failure to do so would be in breach of standards and could lead to disciplinary or investigation by the organisation, OFSTED or LADO.
Ā· Respect the confidentiality of children, their families and other adults, including records held at the centre by adhering to the confidentiality policy and agreement.
Ā· Comply with any reasonable requests by the Senior EYP Lead and Trustees.
Job context
The post holder will maintain excellent working relationships with all staff within Mr Bees Family Centre and wider partnership groups. Contact and liaison will be required as needed with the families, clients and others using the Mr Bees Family Centre services or facilities.
Working environment
The post holder will be based at our North Lynn Centre in the first instance but may be required to work at other sites, and to travel to any other venues as required.
