Is anyone thinking of having a street party to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee? (Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June). They are a great way the meet your neighbours and build community spirit. They are normally private residents events in small streets. If you would like to have one and don’t know where to begin there is very helpful information on the following websites www.streetparty.org.uk and www.gov.uk where you need to search for organizing a street party.

GOV.UK - The place to find government services and information - simpler, clearer, faster.

As part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the village, there will be an exhibition at the Village Centre. The organiser has asked if anyone has any photos or memorabilia of the coronation/street parties/other events in the village or any visits that the Queen has made to the village over the last 70 years that they would be willing to lend (copies can be arranged if preferred). If you do have anything, please contact myself or our clerk Sarah Bristow.
