Barby & Kilsby Neighbours against more Gun Noise

Just a reminder that you now have until Tuesday 8th August to comment on the latest planning application by Barby Sporting Limited for the construction of significant additional bunding at the site as well as widening access. This is linked to the previous application to expand the operations at the site but with no justification in terms of reducing noise. No justification has been provided yet construction of these bunds will unnecessarily change the local landscape and involve significant additional traffic in construction:
It will:
- negatively impact the area with additional noise and traffic generated by multiple HGV deliveries over c2 years
- put additional pressure on already poorly maintained roads and in generating traffic through our villages
- change the visual appearance of the landscape with no benefit
- be a complete waste of resources and time as won't reduce the noise nuisance on shooting days.

The deadline for comments on the planning application has been extended to 31st January. So if you have not yet written in please do so by then. You can do so online by going to the Daventry Area Planning Applications and searching for WND/2021/0767.

The more letters the better! Each individual can comment.

Barby Sporting Limited/Cadman Sporting (the owners of Barby Gun Club) have put in a planning application to West Northants Council to extend the opening hours of the club to 6 days a week (from the current 2). They also plan Corporate Shooting Events several days a week. This means shooting up to 9pm in the summer.
Think of the increased impact of background shooting noise on our pets, livestock and wild life - let alone local residents, particularly the elderly and vulnerable, sensitive to noise.
If you want to stop more gun noise please write to the Planning Dept objecting to the application quoting reference WND/2021/0767 BEFORE 1st February 2022.
