Today I had the honour of parading our national standard at Harry sustins final journey to the big reorg rip Harry

Dear Friends,

one of our members suggested an idea called “Ring a Rock”. it is a simple but excellent idea.

So I’m asking everyone to Ring a Rock once a week. Just a quick call to say hello and ask how they’re doing.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m guilty of not always keeping in touch with long-term friends. But this can go much further than that. We have older members who may be feeling lonely, and younger members who may be struggling in ways they don’t show outwardly.

I know that when I retired, I felt very lonely during my first year. A simple phone call can make more difference than we realise.

Please take me up on this, and I would be grateful if Branch Chairmen could take the lead and spread the word within their branches.

That call you make might be exactly what someone needs, even if they don’t appear to need it.

Today I had the honour of parading our national standard at the beginning of Joe Steele’s final journey I counted around 200 on parade with rocks travelling from all over the country unfortunately I was unable to attend his wake but a healthy contingent of 2 sqn veterans were last seen patrolling in the general direction of the wake venue hope no one gets the jail

Hi Troops.

No details as yet for the funeral of Joe Steele. The family have made contact and are requesting Standards and for ex-Regiment to attend wearing blazers/ties/medals etc. I will publish details as soon as I am given them but it is expected to take place in the first 2 weeks of 2026.

If anyone knows where the Scottish Branch Standard is currently being held, could you please get in touch asap.
