Local premises be aware: A person is contacting local premises, suggesting they are from Environmental Health, and calling themselves 'Roy'. They request a callback to an 020 number. All Environmental Health Officers will carry identification, when visiting in person. If you are concerned about a telephone call being genuine, please call our Customer Service Number on 01546 605519 and ask to speak to Environmental Health who will be able to advise further. We currently have no member of staff employed by the name of Roy. Thank you.

Important information for travellers to and from Islay and Jura: All Islay ferry traffic moves today (2 June) to Port Askaig as Port Ellen closes as work begins on CMAL’s project to improve the harbour over the next three years. As we get used to the changes, we ask all travellers to be patient, follow signage, directions from on-site staff and most importantly, please park responsibly. Calmac has more information for travellers: www.calmac.co.uk/travel/service-changes/port-ellen-closure/ #/
