A reminder for parents and carers that free breakfast is being offered to all North Ayrshire secondary pupils this week and every school morning until Friday 30 January 2026.

All secondary schools will be offering a free breakfast to pupils every school morning which includes either a hot roll or two of the following: fruit pot, croissant, cheese scone, pancake or toast.

It is hoped the warm breakfasts will take some of the pressure off families when the cost of living bites hardest 🍴

Thank you to our catering staff who have helped provide these warm breakfasts when the young people need it the most.

Alcohol takes a long time to leave your system, so you could still be over the limit the morning after.

Real roads don’t reset.

Don’t risk it – plan ahead and choose a safe way home.

Its National Youth Work week 🎉lets celebrate the power of Youth Work

Some local people from the Youth Forum and Youth Synergy groups will be popping into the Garnock Campus Assemblies this week to share some highlights of what great work is going on in the Garnock Valley 😎

If you would like to find out more about what youth groups are on then drop us a message ❤️

We are proud once again to pledge our support this week to Scotland's National Youth Work Week 👇

Delivered by YouthLink Scotland this year’s theme, Safe Spaces, Strong Futures, connects directly to Scotland's national agency for youth work's manifesto vision: a Scotland where
every young person has a right, a space, a future - see link in comments 👇

Why is important? In the word's of Youth Link Scotland: "Youth work lifts barriers, builds dignity, and helps young people move from surviving to thriving."

📌 Youth work is part of Scotland’s education system. It’s a valuable element of the learner journey for all children and young people, helping them to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to reach their potential in learning, life and work.

📌 Within Scotland's Curriculum for Excellence, youth work complements and enhances the formal curriculum, improving readiness to learn, health and wellbeing and educational outcomes for learners.

📌 Part of the Community Learning and Development team, our youth workers and network of youth modern apprentices support schools and communities to harness the power of youth work and learning in alternative environments to traditional classroom settings.

We are at the forefront of ensuring North Ayrshire Council upholds - the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and are responsible for driving the council's Council Plan priority 🙌

This week we will be shining a spotlight on the impactful work happening in safe and inclusive spaces across North Ayrshire's six localities to help young people to grow, explore and thrive 🫶

We will focus on opportunities that safeguard young people, meet young people who are benefitting from the power of youth work and ensure that their voices are heard.

We'll also evidence examples of how we are changing lives by building emotional resilience, promoting digital wellbeing and ensuring every young person has a right, a space and a future.

Stay tuned for news updates...
