The First minister has confirmed there will not be any penalties for those who have not had time to have alarms fitted due to isolation etc.

Please do not worry yourself with lawbreaking. There is no penalty for not having the alarms fitted in time.

We see a lot of posts on Facebook and other social media with scaremongering about breaking the law. This is not the case.
Some important points below.

The regulations are not criminal.
Your house insurance will not be invalid if you have normal smoke alarms fitted.
There are no fines being sent out to people
You do not need to have the expensive hard wired systems
