Yesterday, we lost a highly valued member of the ABM family. Maddie McMahon, doula and Breastfeeding Counsellor.

Maddie trained as an ABM BFC over 20 years ago. She built the bridge between the doula world & the ABM so we could provide and authenticate the breastfeeding support training they so needed.

This was how the ABM Foundation course was established; to give doulas and health care professionals a legitimate breastfeeding training pathway.

Maddie inspired so many people to train and support breastfeeding, both locally to her at this point in the Cambridge area and widely throughout the doula world.

She was hugely knowledgable, empathic, passionate, fought for the rights of women and birthing people, and she was just one of the nicest people you could ever meet. We talk about the ripples of breastfeeding support reaching widely. Maddie created a tidal wave!

Please roll out the red carpet and give her a round of applause. Rosie Farrar was recognised today as a Doula UK doula. Rosie has been a Doula locally for about 8 years and last year decided to join Doula UK. Rosie it has been a wonder and a honour to watch you grow within your recognition process. Your warmth and kindness makes you such a good support for your clients and Im so happy to have such a capable doula in South Wales.
