We are looking for a Responsible Individual to oversee the development of two children’s homes for a client in Oxfordshire.

📝 Part Time (2 days per week)

💷 £67,000 pro rata (plus bonus structure)

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a therapeutic service to ensure that it can provide the best possible care to the children who need it the most.

The perfect candidate would have extensive experience and a proven track record of leading regulated children’s homes and have the knowledge and capacity to support the operation of an outstanding service. The applicant would also be required to pass a fit persons interview and register with Ofsted.

You can take the boy out of the local authority but you can’t take the local authority out of the boy!!!!

It was a pleasure to be back at Oxfordshire County Council yesterday, delivering some bespoke ligature awareness and rescue training in the living room of the home that Liam Walker used to manage!!!!

It was also good to catch up with some familiar faces and meet some new people who are all committed to keeping children safe. Even though Liam left OCC last year after 24 years, it is pleasing for him to know that they still have committed and knowledgeable staff in their homes helping to deliver high quality care and safeguarding, even through some tricky times.

Oxonia Care Consultancy is looking forward to continuing working with the local authority, using our specialist knowledge and understanding of its policies and procedures (Liam and Lindsay did write more than their fair share of them) to support staff to achieve amazing results. We have been able to make training specific to their needs and help “make it make sense” within the context of their organisation.

As this training was about preventing child su***de by ligature and hanging , we will be donating 10% of our fee to the Joey Beauchamp Foundation, a fantastic and worthy cause close to our hearts, and a charity that does so much locally to raise awareness around mental health and support su***de prevention.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Registered Manager on behalf of a client who is setting up a brand new 4 bed EBD children’s home in Oxfordshire.

The successful applicant will be involved in shaping the home from the outset to help deliver high quality care, nurture and love to the children who need it most.

The home is modern, built and finished to a high specification and set within extensive private grounds in the Oxfordshire countryside. An ideal therapeutic space for children who have experienced high levels of trauma.

The organisation is committed to care quality above profit and are aiming to create something special and unique within the care sector.

We are looking for someone with:

✅ Extensive experience of managing children’s homes with a proven record of success

✅ The requisite requirements to register as a registered management with Ofsted

✅ Extensive knowledge of the law and statutory guidance relating to children’s homes

✅ Level 5 in Residential Children’s Home Management (or equivalent) or the ability to achieve this within 2 years of appointment

✅ Commitment to delivering high quality care to vulnerable children

✅ An understanding of trauma and therapeutic approaches used in residential childcare

✅ Clear and demonstrable leadership and management skills

At Oxonia Care Consultancy we’ve recently been delivering exploitation training to local authority children’s home’s for Oxfordshire County Council, facilitated by the excellent Fred Toon who has bags of residential experience and has held key strategic positions within statutory organisations and has influenced national policy on human trafficking, giving unique insight and practical experience in tackling exploitation head on.

We now have availability to deliver this same training to private providers, as well as offering specialist consultation on cases where children are being or are risk of being exploited in children’s homes. We are also able to provide bespoke training around exploitation geared to the specific needs of your home and your children.
