Have your say on the future of the A4 between Keynsham, Bath and Bristol!

The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) has launched a public consultation on its updated plans for the A4 Bath to Bristol – Keynsham section, and they want to hear from local residents, businesses and anyone who travels through the area.
Following feedback received during the 2023 consultation, the plans have been revised and now include:
🚌 New centrally located bus stops for the X39 service
🚶 Over two miles of new walking and cycling routes along the Keynsham Bypass
🚸 Improvements designed to make journeys safer and more accessible for everyone

These proposals form part of the wider A4 Bath to Bristol project, which aims to improve public transport, walking and cycling connections while creating safer, more reliable journeys between Bath, Keynsham and Bristol.

📅 The consultation is open until 22 September 2026.
📍 Drop-in events
• Saturday 15 August – Keynsham Community Space, 12.30pm–5.30pm
• Wednesday 9 September – Fear Hall, 2.30pm–7.30pm

About the Bands...
Serenade Big Band

“Serenade is an 18 piece big band, performing a range of repertoire from the big band classics from the 1930’s and 1940’s to arrangements of modern day favourites. We’re delighted to be returning to Keynsham with a brand new set - from Glenn Miller to Mark Ronson and K-pop, there’s something for everyone! We can’t wait to show you how everything can be better with a bit of big band sound!”

KLOG-Keynsham Light Opera Group

“Keynsham Light Opera Group have been in existence for more than 50 years. With very few interruptions since then, KLOG has been entertaining the local community with musical productions.

We perform two shows each year, generally in April and October in Keynsham or Saltford
In April we performed “Sister Act” at Saltford Hall and in October we are performing a concert type show at The Space. We are always looking for new talent and anyone who can help backstage with props and scenery.”

Bring a picnic and seating and join us for a weekend filled with music. 🎵

Live music playing most weekends until the end of September 2026.

Apparently, someone decided the “H” in Heritage wasn’t needed. 🤦‍♂️

A banner promoting our Heritage Open Day Festival that was attached to the railings on Ashton Way had the letter H removed.

Funny? Maybe for about five seconds.
But let’s be clear, this is vandalism, not a bit of harmless fun.

These banners are there to promote a community event and celebrate our local heritage.

If you don’t like the banner, fair enough, but removing or damaging it isn’t acceptable.

Perhaps the missing H could make a return before the festival… because without it, things are getting a little eritage. 😏

Here is a link to the programme with the H in tact! https://issuu.com/deputytownclerk/docs/keynsham_heritage_open_days_2026_booklet_-_final_v?fr=xKAE9_zU1NQ
