12/04/2026: 11:24. Team called by Cumbria Police to reports of a runner taking part in an organised event in the Howgills had sustained a lower leg injury. The area was on patch so we transfered the callout to them. We also had two vehicles nearby on an off road training day. We headed to the Cross Keys RV point and where informed that KSMRT had used sarloc/phonefind and located a casualty near Bowerdale. As we were about to stand down NWAS sent a new request for assistance with a casualty near Cautley Spout. It was soon apparent that we had two casualties from the same event. The team deployed on the hill and assisted the event paramedic in treating the casualty before stretchering him down the fell.

04/04/2026: 22:04hrs Team called by Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) to assist with an incident on Tarn Crag. We deployed 5 team members. It proved to be a challenge just to reach the cas site. This was not an isolated incident last night, as teams across the lakes were deployed on various shouts during the height of storm Dave.
Our message has always been . Look at the weather forecast, dress for the conditions and carry the right gear, know your own limitations and those who are with you. The fells and lakes are not going anywhere, their will always be another day for adventure. A link to LAMRT report is attached.

March was a busy time for our team visits and talks. It gives us an opportunity to talk about safety on the fells and also how to call out a mountain rescue team and what we do on a callout. Plus with our younger audiences it is also time for some mini mountain rescue fun. We visited 4th Kirkby Lonsdale Girl Guides, the Early years at Old Hutton Primary School and Kendal Nursery School. Plus we had our earlier visit to Underley Gardens School. We wish everyone a safe and happy Easter and please remember to and

Sat 14th March. A very special day for the team. Today we named one of our landrovers in honour of John Everett or "John Ev " as we all knew him. With family members and past team members present, John's wife June removed the sash to reveal his name. This was followed by former team leader Eddie "Blessing" the vehicle with a tot of Jura, John's favourite tipple. We all then raised a glass in memory of John which was followed by team members showing our guests around the base and vehicles.
