Between 7pm and 9pm tomorrow evening (Tuesday 3rd March), firefighters from Kendal Fire Station will be tackling a simulated building fire at Riverside Apartments Lound Road Kendal (the old K Village), which enables us to practise our procedures designed to protect you in the event of a real incident.

Do not be alarmed if you notice an increased number of service vehicles and firefighters in the area during this period, as these will be supporting the exercise. Simulated smoke will also be used as part of the scenario.

During the exercise, access to and from the car park will be disrupted, but still possible if necessary.

Green watch from Kendal Fire Station are in Kendal town centre today as part of the Kendal Torchlight Festival. Come along and visit us and have a look around the fire engine

Come and visit the Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service stand at the Westmorland County Show. We are here with Wellifant, Fireman Sam and Green Watch from Kendal, demonstrating some of our equipment and giving practical demonstrations. These include a large animal rescue demo, fire & water safety talks using virtual reality headsets, throwback challenge and heart start demonstrations.

We are here both days (10th and 11th September).

Between 10am and 1pm tomorrow (Saturday 16 August), firefighters from Kendal Fire Station will be tackling a simulated building fire at Sand Aire House in Kendal, which enables us to practise our procedures designed to protect you in the event of a real incident.

Do not be alarmed if you notice an increased number of service vehicles and firefighters in the area during this period, as these will be supporting the exercise. Simulated smoke will also be used on a balcony as part of the scenario.

During the exercise, access to and from the car park will be disrupted, but still possible if necessary.

Red watch Kendal and Kendal On Call crews training together this evening on a simulated incident. The scenario, was a large goods vehicle which had lost control, crashing into scaffolding, causing the workers on the scaffold to fall from height onto the vehicle. The incident was further compounded by a car carrying a family (including baby) crashing into the lorry.
The training drill involved working at height training, casualty care, combined with extrication from a crushed vehicle.
