⭐ Delivering for the Community – 125+ Residents Supported Through NADRA Services 🇵🇰

Yesterday, I was proud to host another successful NADRA Surgery, assisting over 125 residents with their applications, queries and documentation.

The fantastic turnout once again demonstrates how important these services are to our community, and I am delighted to be able to continue providing this support for local residents. If anyone requires assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to the staff from the Pakistani Consulate for their professionalism, dedication and support throughout the event.

A special thank you goes to Riasat Ali and the team at Sangat centre for once again providing the venue and helping ensure the day ran smoothly. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

UNANIMOUS DECISION - GRANTED. ✅💪

Alhamdulillah 🙏

Today I represented a local constituent at Bradford District Planning Panel, supporting an application for a house extension. Thanks to the Equality Act 2010, members were rightly compelled to look beyond a narrow interpretation of impact and consider the real circumstances at hand.

I made clear, to-the-point arguments outlining the genuine necessity of this extension, and I’m pleased that was recognised.

I am proud to be fighting hard for residents right until the very end.

Another planning application I’m supporting has now been APPROVED!🙏

This case is especially important. The applicant presents compelling evidence, and the proposal is driven by a genuine need to support her disabled child. I make sure that need is clearly put forward, and I’m pleased the right decision has been made.

Moments like this remind me why the work matters.

As I prepare to leave the council on the 7th, receiving heartfelt duas from the sisters and mothers of Keighley means a great deal to me. That kind of support stays with you.

HEALTH SUPPORT RIGHT IN THE HEART OF TOWN!💙👏

Really pleased to see the official opening of the Keighley Community and Family Hub right in the heart of our town centre.

I’ve always been a strong advocate for better healthcare facilities in Keighley Central. As one of the most deprived areas in the district, we face real health inequalities, whether that’s access to services, early support for families, or preventative care. That’s why I’ve consistently pushed for a proper health presence in the town centre.

This new hub on Bow Street is a positive step in the right direction. Bringing services like vaccination clinics, support for parents, midwives, and family wellbeing all under one roof and in an accessible central location is exactly what our community needs.

There is still more to do, and I will continue fighting for a Keighley Health Hub to ensure our town gets the level of healthcare provision it truly deserves.

A big congratulations to everyone involved, from Keighley Healthy Living to Modality and all partners for working together to make this happen. 👏

This is how we begin to tackle health inequalities and build a healthier Keighley for everyone.

📢 HUGE NEWS FOR KEIGHLEY! 📢

Cavendish Street is getting a £1.4 MILLION UPGRADE – secured through the Keighley Towns Fund! 🎉

This beautiful heritage street, with its Edwardian terraces and listed canopy, links our railway station to the town centre and bus station – and it’s set to shine brighter than ever.

Here’s what’s coming:

• Wider pavements resurfaced in York stone with granite kerbs

• Full tree planting scheme & rain gardens to reduce flood risk

• New high-quality benches, bins and other street furniture

• Narrowed road with pelican crossings to make walking easier

• Parking/loading bays set back while keeping current traffic flow

Final designs will be finalised in the coming months, with work starting later this year in two phases. The north side is funded through the Towns Fund, and we’re actively seeking additional funding for the south side.

Let’s get ready to see Cavendish Street transformed! 🏗️🌳

*NADRA SURGERY - SANGAT CENTRE* 👏✅🇵🇰

Thank you to my residents of Keighley who came to our Nadra surgery for help with their identity cards, power of attorney’s and other consular services!

This was our second session of the year, and I’m incredibly proud that we supported over 200 hardworking people today, many of whom can’t make it to the consulate during regular working hours.

What makes this even more special is that I do this work voluntarily, following in my father’s footsteps. I’m honoured to carry on the legacy he started of giving back to our community.

Many thanks to Pakistani Consulate Bradford and Riasat Ali at Sangat centre for providing their facilities.

LUND PARK PLAY AREA 🛹🛝🧩 | UPDATE POST🚨

I’m delighted to share exciting news about the Lund Park Play Area – work is set to begin on its long-awaited refurbishment!

Following a successful campaign to secure £115,000 in funding, contractors will start on site from Monday 16th March. The project is expected to take 8–10 weeks to complete.👏

WHY THIS MATTERS

This investment was shaped by local residents. During my 2024 campaign, the play area’s poor condition was a top concern raised at doors across the community. Families told us they needed better facilities for children and we listened, fought for the funding, and delivered.

WHAT’S BEING IMPROVED

• Brand new play equipment for all ages 🛝🤾‍♀️
• New benches and picnic tables for families 🪑
• Resurfacing and critical safety upgrades 🛣️
• General improvements to refresh this cherished community space 🍀

OUR RECORD OF INVESTMENT

Since 2021, we’ve prioritised local parks and green spaces:

• Installed outdoor gym equipment at Devonshire Park

• Revitalisation of Cliffe Castle play area, landscape and installation of a walking route.

• Improvements made to Burgees Fields Park

• Delivered a new play area at Victoria Park, now hugely popular with families

Lund Park is the latest step in this commitment.

As the blessed month of Ramadan begins, I would like to extend my heartfelt wishes to all residents in Keighley Central Ward and beyond.

Ramadan is a time of reflection, prayer, self-discipline and compassion. It reminds us of the importance of community, generosity and supporting those in need. Whether you are fasting or supporting family and friends who are, this month brings us together in unity and understanding.

I pray this Ramadan brings peace to your homes, strength to your hearts, and blessings to your families. May it be a month filled with forgiveness, kindness and spiritual growth.
