Did you know you can see our print volunteers in action at Bradford Industrial Museum? 🖨️

Our volunteers help maintain and operate the museum’s historic printing presses, helping bring the gallery to life for visitors throughout the week.

Whether demonstrating the machinery, sharing stories from the industry or explaining how the presses work, they help keep an important part of Bradford’s history alive and accessible.

Some of our volunteers even come from print and arts backgrounds themselves, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience with them.

If you visit the museum, make sure to stop, ask questions and have a chat with the team. They’re always happy to share what they know.

This recipe book is part of our local studies collection. It’s over 120years old and contains the following recipe for a prawn curry. Although perhaps not with the sophisticated spicing of a modern day curry, it made an interesting addition to the Skipton Parish Church Bazaar.

Do you have any passed down family favourite recipes ? Or something you would love others to try ?
If so we would love to hear from you.

We Want Your Favourite Homegrown Recipes for our Community Cookbook. The Cookbook is Launching in July 2026 during Bradford Heritage Week.

Philip and Ethel Snowden were the UK's original socialist power couple, dominating the political landscape in the 1920s. Philip served as Chancellor of the Exchequer in the UK's first two Labour governments, while Ethel—a prominent suffragist, journalist, and BBC Governor—became a political and cultural force in her own right.

Join historian Alexander Clifford, editor of a new edition of Snowden's autobiography, as he explores the fascinating story of how and why Philip Snowden betrayed his party to ruthlessly pursue a political vendetta. Was he Labour's Heathcliff?

Labour's Heathcliff - The political revenge story of Philip Snowden
