🤎 HALF TERM REMINDERS 🤎
As we head into a busy half term at Mudpies, here are a few helpful reminders and FAQs before your visit!
This will likely be our last holiday period where all sessions are fully mixed age.
From this Summer, we’ll be trialling a combination of mixed age sessions alongside younger children sessions during the holidays, with the aim of creating a calmer and more tailored experience for everyone. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this, so please feel free to comment with any feedback below!
You may also spot a couple of new faces at sessions over half term as we welcome Laura and Morgan to the Mudpies team as qualified Play Leaders, joining lovely Bea who has been running sessions alongside me for the past couple of years 🤎 Once they’re settled in, we’ll share a proper introduction post so everyone can say hello!
A few important reminders before your visit:
🌿 ALL children must remain supervised at all times, regardless of age. Please make sure your little ones are always within sight and that you’re able to help if needed.
🌿 Please make sure all rubbish goes in the bin. Wipes, cups, wrappers and general rubbish all help us hugely when disposed of properly.
🌿 Mudpies is all about free play and imagination, which means children are often encouraged to move resources between stations as part of their play and that’s absolutely okay!
Some activities however, particularly the stations under the pergola (tuff tray set ups, table set up, mud kitchens) we ask for resources to stay at these stations (for example, playdough accessories) to help prevent items getting lost or damaged and so everyone can continue to enjoy them. We really appreciate your support with this.
🌿 The final 10 minutes of each session is tidy-up time, signalled by the bell. It makes such a difference when both children and grown ups help out with even small jobs, like picking items up from the floor or returning resources to the correct station where possible 🤎
🌿 Please encourage children to treat our equipment, resources and each other with kindness and respect.
As Mudpies is primarily designed for under 5s, it can help to have a quick chat with older siblings beforehand about being mindful of younger children in the space. That said, we absolutely LOVE welcoming our bigger children too as they always bring the most creative ideas and imaginative play with them, but we request that rough play and running around in the space is saved for outside the play area 🤎
🌿 We do not currently have on-site food and drink facilities at Mudpies (hopefully soon!), however there is a takeaway café inside the leisure centre that you can visit before you head down to us, and you are also very welcome to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy during your visit.
We kindly ask that all food and drinks are consumed on the benches away from the play set ups. We’re having to clean increasing amounts of food and spillages from the equipment which is not only unpleasant, but also poses a risk to children attending with allergies.
Finally, a huge thank you to all of our lovely Mudpiers who already follow these guidelines so well and help keep Mudpies a fun, safe and welcoming space for everyone. We simply like to share these reminders ahead of busy holiday periods, especially as we welcome lots of new families to sessions too 😊
