You don’t have to own your home to become a foster carer. You can still foster if you rent, as long as you have permission from your landlord.

Have you ever thought about becoming a foster carer? We’d love to invite you to our event on Wednesday 21 May from 7pm to 9pm at Saltcoats Town Hall, where you can enjoy a coffee and meet some of our current foster carers and staff, who will be able to answer any questions you might have.

North Ayrshire Fostering & Adoption is hosting an information event for potential foster carers.

This is being hosted by the Families for Children Team in Ardeer Community Centre on Saturday, October 19

Councillor Margaret Johnson, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care, said: "There are many benefits to fostering and adoption, for both the children involved and the people who welcome them into their home as a new member of the family.

"We are especially keen to hear from anyone who is willing to consider offering short break care to children either mid-week or at weekends."
