The North Ayrshire Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival is just around the corner and the team are working hard behind the scenes on the line-up and offering...

💡 If you are an individual, creative or part of a group or organisation that would like to be part of this year’s festival by proposing an event or activity, please fill in the ideas submission form now: https://tinyurl.com/yxwy5crn

🎉 Submissions can be at any stage, whether you have an initial idea or a fully confirmed event.

➡️ The festival runs from 20 October to 9 November, and this year’s theme is Reflections, inviting creative exploration of mental health, wellbeing, and lived experience.

Once your form is submitted, a member of the team will be in touch to discuss your proposal and offer any support you may need in the lead‑up to the festival

Volunteering just one hour a week can spark a life-changing connection 🫶

Raising awareness ahead of the next academic year, we are shining a spotlight on the transformative impact of mentoring a young person in our secondary schools.

The MCR Pathways mentoring programme operating across our secondary schools, helps care experienced young people to access the same educational outcomes and career opportunities as their peers 👇

The impact of having a trusted adult mentor is powerful: 93.8% of mentored young people go on to a positive destination after school - whether that’s college, university, or employment.

"It also provides you with an amazing opportunity to develop your communication skills as you frequently have to discuss and explain things in a different way. Getting a young person's perspective on the world is invaluable..." 🫶

Young people are asked to complete the annual Children's Health Scotland survey to give children across Scotland the chance to share their experiences so professionals can better respect and uphold their rights.

The deadline to share your views is Sunday 9 June - please take the time to have your say so that young people's voices continue to guide the future of healthcare in Scotland.

Children's Health Scotland works to ensure every child in Scotland has the right to the best possible health and understands their health rights 🩺⚕️💪🫀👩🏻‍⚕️

They provide support programmes for children with health conditions, as well as for Kinship and Foster Carers and are the only charity in Scotland that focuses on the healthcare needs and rights of children with health conditions.

Under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), Article 24, children have the right to the best possible health.

Scotland’s Getting It Right For Every Child approach underpins this work by ensuring every child gets the right support at the right time, centred around their wellbeing needs.

Last year, young people told North Ayrshire Child Protection Committee that you’d like to get more of your messaging on how to stay safe via the social media channels you use.

To help us create the right types of content for you, we’re running an anonymous survey to find out which social media platforms you use most, as well as the types of content you like and dislike.
