Sunday 20 September
Sunday 4 October
Sunday 11 October
Sunday 18 October
Sunday 25 October
What traffic management will be in place?
While we are working, a full closure of the footpath will be in place for the safety of pedestrians and operatives.
What is the diversion route in place?
Waveney Road, Stour Avenue, Mill Lane, Chaucer Road, Garrison Lane and vice versa.
What do I need to know about these works?
Refurbishing the bridge requires grit blasting works, which are very noisy. Although we will be using acoustic covers on site to help prevent some of this noise, our works will still be very loud.
East Suffolk Council are aware of the noise and have granted the required permission for the works to proceed. We will liaise with them throughout the scheme to monitor the level of noise and we will also aim to complete the noisiest of the works by early evening to help minimise disruption.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by the noise from these essential refurbishment works, which are required to ensure the safety and longevity of the bridge.
