🚣‍♀️🐉 A roaring success on the Waterfront!

Mayor of Ipswich Councillor Pat Bruce-Browne was with the charity Bright Futures on Saturday, for Ipswich’s seventh annual Dragon Boat Race.

35 teams took to the water, from brave beginners to seasoned crews, battling wind, rain and each other. Putting on an energetic spectacle of paddling and drumming for the crowds, the atmosphere was full of colour, laughter and brilliant community spirit.

All the action built up to a thrilling grand finale, with teams racing not just for glory, but to raise vital funds for Brave Futures, supporting children and young people across Suffolk

👏 Attending in support of the charity, and helping highlight the importance of making a splash for this local cause, Councillor Bruce-Browne joined spectators along the Waterfront in cheering on competitors.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, organised and supported – proving once again that Ipswich knows how to come together (whatever the weather!) 💙

📣 Have your say in the next chapter for Ipswich as consultation launches on proposals for a Town Council.

♻️ It’s happening - Better Recycling for Ipswich ♻️

The new recycling and waste service that’s designed to make it easier for us all to recycle more than ever before is here.

For your collection details visit https://app.ipswich.gov.uk/bin-collection/

Please remember to secure your outdoor food waste caddy by lifting the handle to lock it. If your recycling bin has been collected but the caddy is still outside, don’t worry - food waste is collected by a different vehicle.

After emptying your large food caddy, the crew will place it on its side with the handle upright. This indicates the collection has been completed and helps prevent the empty caddy from being blown over by the wind.

Let’s all play our part and make Ipswich even better at recycling 💚
