Suffolk & Essex Coast & Heaths National Landscape A beautiful, nationally designated important landscape on the Suffolk coast and North Essex, stretching from Kessingland to Wrabness

A beautiful stretch of the Suffolk coast, from Kessingland in the north to the River Stour Estuary in North Essex. Wildlife rich estuaries, shingle beaches and heathland characterise the area, together with important agriculture and forestry land and picture-postcard coastal towns. Tourism is the foremost economy with visitors attracted by the authenticity of the area, its amazing environment, quality accommodation and local food and drink.

Since 2016, almost £100,000 has supported a wide range of community projects in and around Leiston

National Landscape volunteers continued ongoing work at a woodland in Melton 🌳

First, we created an entrance point to a newly diverted footpath to help protect an ancient oak tree whose roots were being damaged ❤️

Later, we made a dead hedge to reduce disturbance from deer and dogs, which will also allow the forest understorey to recover following recent bamboo removal 🌱
