The Suffolk Family Information Service offers free advice about childcare, early education for 2,3 and 4 year olds, and a range of services for your family. We can help you choose the type of childcare most suited to you and your child's needs. We provide support by phone and email, and through our Family Services Directory (FSD) website: www.suffolk.gov.uk/fsd which allows parents to search for c

hildcare online (for free, no need to register). Our friendly staff can help you search for childcare providers in your local area which include a detailed list of ALL Ofsted registered day nurseries, pre-schools and childminders, closest to you. We also offer extra help to families who are struggling to find a childcare place. Childcare Information available includes:
- Name and contact details of the childcare
provider;
- Type of childcare provider;
- Age range catered for;
- Number of places offered;
- Opening hours;
- Fees (where available);
- Ofsted registration nom of childcare provider
and whether they have gained a good Ofsted
rating (where available). We can let you know when your 3 year old is entitled to their free early education place and help you check online if your 2 year old is eligible for free childcare.

🌟 Have You Secured a Childcare Place for Your 2-Year-Old? 🌟

Even if you don’t qualify for 30 hours funded childcare, your little one could still get 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year through 2-Year-Old Funding.

You may be eligible if you receive certain government support for your child or your child:

- Is a child in care or in need
- Has an EHCP
- Receives Disability Living Allowance

⏰ Keep Your 30 Hours Childcare Code Active! ⏰

Do you have a code for 30 hours of funded childcare? Don’t forget — you need to reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months.

You will be prompted when it’s time, but you can also sign in now to check your reconfirmation date. Make sure you reconfirm before 31 August 2026 to keep your code valid from 01 September 2026 onwards.

Working parents and carers could get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year per child) to help with childcare costs.

If your child has a disability, you could receive up to £1,000 every 3 months (up to £4,000 a year).

You can use this towards Ofsted registered nurseries, childminders, nannies, and before/after school or holiday clubs.

Working parents of children aged 9 months to 4 years need to apply for or reconfirm their childcare code by 31 August 2026.

It can take up to 7 days for approval, and codes starting from 01 September 2026 won’t count for Autumn Term funding.
